Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name of Winona Laura Hoowitz who was born in Winona Minnesota. Parents of Winona Ryder chose her name after her hometown. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father was from a Jewish family Ryder considers herself Jewish. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's family moved from Mendocino County, California at the age of seven years old. At the time, there was no electricity. Ryder read a lot due to the absence of television. Ryder started taking classes in acting at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 aged 12 years old. In 1986 she landed her first role on the big screen in the movie Lucas at just fifteen years old. Ryder faced bullying in high school. Her hope was that her career in acting would alter this. However, it didn't come to pass. However, she continued to pursue her dreams. Her biggest break occurred in the year 1988, when Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play numerous roles that were successful. In 1993, she was awarded an Oscar Awards to be awarded for The Age of Innocence.
